# Referenced Images

When pasted content references image URLs, Webstudio uploads those images into [Assets](/university/foundations/assets.md) and rewrites the generated components/styles to use the uploaded assets.

This applies to paste flows that include image references, such as:

* [HTML with CSS](/university/foundations/copy-paste/html-with-css.md)
* [HTML with Tailwind](/university/foundations/copy-paste/html-with-tailwind.md)
* [Markdown](/university/foundations/copy-paste/markdown.md)
* [Webflow](/university/foundations/copy-paste/webflow.md)

This page is about images referenced by pasted text/markup. It is not a separate workflow for pasting raw image files from the system clipboard.
